Monitors are used in Baggage system for multiple reasons over standard LEDS. Monitors are used when the airport has the need to display over four flights at one time on a single carousel. Monitors also allow for a more colorful display and can offer advertising benefits. Monitors may show a split screen with advertising and the baggage information on the other half of the screen for a potential to generate revenue for the airport. Monitors are also more cost effective; however monitors have a higher failure rate. All of these concerns should be taken into account when selecting displays.
